For Sale: Puppies

This story made my heart ache. <3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about Nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he Felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the Eyes of a little boy.
Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer.
And with that he let out a whistle,"Here,Dolly!" he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.
As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared; this One noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.
The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself To a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need Someone who understands."
The world is full of people who need someone who understands.
The WHOLE Story of Christian the Lion
The story of Christian the Lion went on a massive viral over the net some time ago and I remember the wonderment of seeing a wild animal retain memory of his loving ‘owners’ after being separated for a year and living a free life in wild Africa. The miracle of friendship between a wild animal and humans is absolutely breathtaking it breaks the barriers of differences among all walks of life.
There are already various versions of this video with differences on frames and musical backgrounds used to emphasize strong emotions between owner and pet. Much as these videos work on their own (whether too emotional or cheesy) the real essence of this wonderful friendship comes to life with this video. Please listen to the narrator. The narrative is wonderful and very reflective.
Thoughts to ponder on:
* How seldom in life are we allowed to just sit, just enjoy friendship?
* While life continues, no one knows the end. Only fairy tales have endings.
Free Hugs
At times when the world is upon our shoulders and we feel lost and alone, we don’t need words or gifts. All we NEED is a hug. A comforting presence of embrace. To feel loved.
We are in the age where social communication is driven through a monitor and keyboard and where friends can only be together through cyberspace. We seldom feel that simple human touch or we take it for granted.
But when all is lost, it’s one simple truth to be held and comforted by a hug.
Please watch this video and forward it to your friends. ‘Free Hugs’ is a campaign created by Juan Mann to promote the essence of a simple hug.
He started his campaign by creating a ‘Free Hug’ board, walked along a public place inviting everyone to give him a hug and be hugged in return. At the first part of the video, you’ll feel sorry for him and may take him as a fool to waste precious time and dignity as no one giving him any attention. As the video progresses, a sense of belonging happens and different people are suddenly giving overwhelming response to the Free Hugs movement. Juan Mann found himself hugged by a lot of people and some joining in his campaign.
You’ll feel good and emotional watching this video.
The Official Free Hugs site can be found at FreeHugs.com. Responses for this “people movement” is so heartfelt, it’s impossible not to be touched and take a some course of action.
So this is my response. I’m sharing this video to everyone I know. By the next we meet (to all my friends I haven’t seen in a while), I’ll give you a hug (just don’t run! HAHA!)
